JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- FHP and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office are investigating a fatal crash involving a bicyclist and a car.A bike rider was killed Tuesday night after getting hit near the corner of Atlantic Boulevard and St. Johns Bluff Road on the Southside.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, John Patrick Lyons, 32, of Jacksonville was driving a 2012 GMC truck southbound on St. Johns Bluff Roas when he hit the back of the bicycle. The bike rider was ejected. The 46-year-old victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
The victim's name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
FHP says charges are pending.
