CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WSOC) -- The swine flu is making a comeback and it’s hitting young, healthy adults.

The federal Centers for Disease Control said swine flu, or H1N1, is the predominant virus this season and has reached epidemic proportions.

It’s the worst outbreak since 2009.

This time, more than 60 percent of all reported flu hospitalizations are adults, ages 18 to 64.

“It’s something everyone should be worried about, both to protect themselves and others,” said Jeffrey Levi with Trust for America’s Health.

The CDC said all flu vaccines this season protect against H1N1.
