JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police shot a man suspected in a robbery and shooting at a CVS Pharmacy in Ortega.

The shooting happened at Jammes Road and San Juan Avenue.

Police say a SWAT team set up surveillance on the suspect at the Magnolia Terrace apartment complex.  Officers saw him get into a gold car.

The gold car then rammed an undercover JSO Chevy Tahoe.  The suspect got out of the car, carrying a black bag.  He had his hand inside the bag during his run, police said.

JSO officers say the suspect ran off after the crash and into a restaurant. The manager told Action News by phone a female employee was inside and saw the suspect running then fall as police shot him.

Police say they ordered the suspect to stop. "He was carrying a black bag, clutching it to his chest and had his hand inside the black bag," Annie Smith with JSO.

Police say he opened the door to the Mr. Dragon restaurant with his shoulder and his hand still on the bag.

He turned toward police when an officer opened fire.  Police say there was one person inside the restaurant at the time of the shooting.

Police detained several other occupants of the suspect's car.  Detectives also found a gun in the black bag.

Detectives would not say whether the suspect is the same suspect in the shooting at Mojo No. 4 in Avondale, but police said Monday they were investigating the two shootings as if they were related.

I am very happy this pile of waste is off our streets, just wish the police would have killed him on the spot so there would be no chance of us tax payers having to cover the expense of his trial and especially the cost of keeping this animal behind bars for the rest of his no good life. Also very glad to read that no one else was injured or shot by this useless animal. Let justice for these violent offenders be swift and merciless.

I guess if you are going to get shot by police it's best to do it by a Fire Station.
