JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A woman and child are in the hospital Tuesday after an accident that sent a car flying through the air. Police tell us they're looking to talk to witnesses who saw it happen.
All afternoon, neighbors came down to see what was going on. Cole Mclean had been watching everything unfold. He lives on the street and says it can be dangerous.
"They fly up and down the road, some are doing 70 miles an hour down the road. It's crazy," said Mclean.
Police say a woman and young child were in the overturned car that landed on the roof of an Explorer, which was parked in a driveway. No one was inside the Explorer. Police say the driver of the BMW was taken in for questioning, but are not saying how they are involved.
"Right now we're trying to determine if any criminal charges will be involved with this crash," said Sgt. Shawn Coarsey.
Police spent the afternoon measuring and trying to figure out how fast the car was going and why it flipped. Investigators are not saying anything about how or why the car flipped until they can complete their investigation.
While everyone waits for answers, Mclean says he'll just take more precautions in his neighborhood.
"You can't trust anyone driving around here," said Mclean.
We're told the child that was in the car that flipped over, is between two and four-years-old. The child is now in stable condition, along with the woman in that car.
