LAKE CITY, Fla. -- A Fort White teen is dead after being involved in a crash around 8:30 p.m. along Southwest King Street in Lake City, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP says Joshua Orndorff, 31, was driving northbound on State Road 17 when he failed to stop at a stop sign before smashing into a pickup truck driven by 43-year-old Norma Schenck.

The force of the collision ejected both Schenck and 12-year-old Megan Rigdon, a passenger in the pickup truck.

Columbia County Emergency Medical Services reports that Schenck sustained critical injuries in the collision and Rigdon died at the scene.

Orndorff was listed by the crash report as being in serious condition at a Gainesville hospital.

Charges are pending in the crash.
