LAKE CITY, Fla. -- Homecoming in Columbia County is part football, and part celebration for the life of a young student.
Columbia High School students kicked off this weekend's homecoming festivities with a pep rally, followed by a parade through town.
Czarrah Howard, 17, was helping to build the senior float, just before she was killed in a crash Monday night.
Action News captured the finished product of that float, which is now decorated in Czarrah's favorite colors: pink and lime green.
The students also built a smaller float, dedicated to the former beauty pageant competitor.
She was awarded first-runner up for Miss Teen Columbia County of 2013.
Friday night's football game will begin with a moment of silence, to remember Czarrah and pray for the right others involved in the wreck.
The football players tell Action News they're pushing for a win for Czarrah.
Action News Alyana Gomez will have more on the game and tribute at 11.
