Jacksonville, Fla.-- Important papers were found littering our streets.

Thousands of papers were everywhere near the Downtown area. We found checks with bank accounts and invoices just blowing in the wind.  As we were digging through the mess, we caught more documents being thrown out of the former EH Thompson Company building.

"That stuff should be shredded. personal information. it could cause a lot of ID theft," said neighbor Brenda Jackson. Jackson were shocked to see what we found. When we went to the people working in the building, we got a response you probably don't want to hear. "We'll be finished tomorrow," said one employee. "It's nothing too bad. A few pieces of paper."

That information that was just blowing in the wind down Jacksonville's Main Street. We even captured photos of someone picking up a few and just walking off with them. One neighbor even told us he found someone's medical records blocks away.

We called the company in charge of the workers. Within five minutes of our call to Zona and Associates, employees started picking up papers. After two weeks on the job, neighbors question whose personal information already blew away.

We are told they should be finished cleaning out the inside of the building Friday. We did call the building owners and talked with a secretary who didn't know about this problem. She told us a manager would call us back. He never did.

The architect working on the building tells us they're cleaning it out to hopefully preserve it as a historic building.

Congrats for getting a stop put to the ongoing improper dumping of large quantities records that were littering downtown streets, creek, park, storm drains, residences, and businesses! The litter coming out of that operation was shameful.
