JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Huguenot Park was closed by JaxPark Sunday morning because there was simply not enough beach left.

The combination of high tide and the busy Memorial Day weekend filled the park to occupancy around 10 a.m.

JaxPark warns that Huguenot Park could open and close at any time over the busy holiday weekend because of the varying tides.

The city encourages people to call 904-251-3335 for conditions at the local areas beaches.

Fact is they are trying to shut down Hugenot park for the people and make it for the birds and marine animals only. People need to take this kind attitude seriously and start addressing it with elections in city council and others who are behind this.
