ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WFTV) -- Orange County deputies said a body that was discovered in a pond behind a hotel near International Drive on Saturday is that of a missing tourist.

Investigators said Simon Latham, 43, a British national who was visiting from South Korea, was last seen leaving a lounge at the Caribe Royale hotel on World Center Drive at 1 a.m. Thursday.

Deputies said Latham was scheduled to return to South Korea at 7 a.m. Friday but did not make his flight. According to investigators, Latham's family was unable to contact him and he left his belongings in his hotel room.

Emergency crews were called to a pond behind the Caribe Royale shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday. Deputies said Latham's body was pulled from the pond. There's no word on the cause of death at this point.

Investigators have not released any further details and the death is under investigation
