" The Jacksonville Association of Firefighters stresses safety this Fourth of July." Really? Then perhaps someone in a position of authority might like to visit my neighborhood tomorrow evening, where an idiot will be firing off commercial grade (read: illegal for private citizens) fireworks for the third year in a row (he advertises on Facebook) from his back yard, and for the third year in a row, the Clay County Sheriff will haughtily remind us that "it IS the 4th of July, you know," and decline to do anything about it. The first year was during a region-wide burn ban (which I believe included fireworks by private citizens), but that apparently didn't count. Funny thing is, this idiot has a BUNCH of people on his friends list claiming to be local firefighters and the front plates on a good portion of the vehicles at these events say...you guessed it, Jax/Clay Fire Department. Imagine that...? I guess all men are created equal but some are more equal than others.
