ATHENS, Ga. (WSB-TV) -- GBI investigators returned to the creek where a University of Georgia student was found dead Tuesday afternoon.

Rebecca Greene, 22, was found in a creek bed along the plaza just about a half mile from the UGA campus; her bike and cellphone were nearby. Channel 2's Wendy Corona saw investigators taking measurements and photos of the creek area Wednesday morning.

Athens-Clarke County police and the GBI are working this case together.

Earlier Wednesday morning, just a couple blocks from the scene, Corona went to the home on Indale Avenue that the student shared with a friend and her boyfriend.

They did not want to go on camera or talk at all, but the family did say they're struggling with the young woman's death.

Across the street, 22-year-old neighbor Sam Girardot said neighbors are still in shock despite police confirmation that this was not a murder.

"It's scary but I'm more concerned about them. It's very close to home. I'm glad it's no foul play," Girardot said.

Others said they still have a lot of questions, but no answers. A preliminary autopsy report is complete, but it may take a couple weeks to finalize the cause of death.
