TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Governor Rick Scott says Tropical Storm Andrea is a reminder to everyone in the state to get ready during Hurricane season.

Speaking from the State Emergency Operations Center, Scott said Tropical Storm Andrea has spawned eight tornadoes.

Scott urged people to watch the weather and to be prepared for flooding. He suggested people have ready three days worth of food and water. He also urged people to stay indoors and not to drive through floodwaters.

However, the governor did note the storm will pass through the state quickly and that people should keep their travel plans.

During the news conference, the governor took time out to slam the Obama administration and the automatic spending cuts that went into effect due to sequestration. Scott says those cuts include the furlough of the National Guard during a critical time in Florida, the hurricane season.
