Gun control comes into spotlight

If media was a little concerned about “what” they place in their news, they would certainly consider what information is conjecture, fantasy, fiction, promotes sensationalism, and what outcomes THEY might cause. For instance what is “high power” ammunition, what is an assault weapon, what use does it serve to detail the preparation and execution of a crime? Reality: the quantity of ammunition is not a factor to indicate a person is a criminal. Most shooters have thousands of rounds, for weekend recreation at the local gun range. Shooting and hunting are both practical and a sport. Shooting well, is a skill like golfing, shooting darts, arrows, pitching ball, and basketball. One who shoots, usually has a number of different weapons and caliber and often shoots 100 or more rounds in an afternoon of practice. Years ago the military changed from small caliber ammunitions to.30 and .45 caliber because, during previous conflicts smaller caliber did not have the ‘take-down’ power. ,223 is a small caliber. No matter what the caliber, all ammunition can be lethal. Guns don’t kill, people do. Criminals using any weapon need imprisonment or the death penalty if they deliberately murder someone. Murder and violence is strongly promoted in movies and video games, under the guise of ‘freedom of expression’. Then, our society wonders ‘why’ did these terrible crimes happen? It is time for the good people to stand up and have their voice heard. Our society will never stop crime by gun-control, society needs to place limits on the violence in movies and video-games. Remember, Hitler had successful gun-control. It worked for him, didn’t it?

grabbing at straws,, bloomberg & feinstein should keep their heads down,, before someone hopefully puts a few in them !!! especially feinstein... know why California is called the breakfast cereal state ??? cause ya take away all the fruits & nuts,, ya still have the flakes,, like feinstein !!! as for bloomberg,, he runs this nations 5th largest sewer,, he should concentrate on getting his house in order,, before offering advice to the president !!! as for gun control.. forget about it !!! ain't gonna happen !!! read my lips,, no new laws on guns,, which won't do a damn thing about the guns in the hands of criminals !!! the kid was never supposed to have weapons,, his mother truly screwed up,, leaving weapons lying around with a disturbed kid in the house !!! well she payed the price for her stupidity !!! 200 million plus guns nationwide,, 25 million of which are assault type weapons,,, will never be removed & laws won't make them go away.. MrCitizen, I think you need to show the American public that "...muskets and cannons.." phrase in the 2nd Amendment. If I remember correctly, it doesn't specify the types of arms that we have the right to "...keep and bear...". Liberals need to quit interpreting the laws and start enforcing the ones that are in place.

The 2nd Amendment is perhaps the most misused, misunderstood, misinterpreted of all Amendments. It was conceived and written when muskets and cannons were ultimate guns and pointed towards militia. Not meant to allow the amassing of arsenals, being promoted by a 'pro-gun' group, used as a political tool and/or, to be coveted by dolts who claim it as a 'right'.

That is not an assault rifle its semi automatic rifle. Mr Bloomberg, aka facist, should lead by example. His bodyguards should stop carrying top the line handguns and use only mace and taser to protect him. Then once thats gone on for a year then maybe we should pay some attention. What he really is saying only the rich and the police have the right to carry guns. The rest must rely on police to show up after the murders occurr and hope they catch the killer after your dead. BTW 223 bushmasters are not favored by the military. Special forces detest them. Using much better weapons. Grunts got use the variant of that gun the M4 and hate it prone to jaming in bad desert conditions and puting them in life threatening situations. The HK-416 elminates some these problems but military wont authorize the HK-416 variant for standard foot soliders. Least not the last time I checked about3 years ago.

His job is to "perform and protect the American people"? Gee, I thought it was to protect the Constitution.
