CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. -- High beams used to avoid deer on the roadway led to the arrest of two New York men.
The two men, Jamaal Green, 23, and Ricardo Petithomme, 34, were stopped by a deputy on I-95 because they had their high beams on.
The deputy found a small amount of marijuana in the driver's wallet. After searching the black Mazda, officers found two fake IDs and eleven fake credit cards. The suspects are accused of using the fake credit cards to go on a shopping spree in Jacksonville. Green was wearing a new $7,000 Rolex watch. There was also a new MacBook laptop valued at $2,200, a leather jacket worth $3,198, a new iPad, two new pairs of tennis shoes and a number of other clothing items.
Because the stolen property had crossed state lines, the US Secret Service was called to help the investigation.
Green is charged with the manufacture, sale or distribution of a false identification, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, failure to dim headlights and bringing stolen property into the state. Petithomme is charged with manufacture of a false identification. Additional charges may be pending.
