JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man, on his way to work, took video of the takedown of a suspect in the abduction and murder of Cherish Perrywinkle.
Nikko Bennett and his friend, Jorge Gonzalez, were on their way to work Saturday morning. They noticed the flashing billboards overhead, alerting drivers of an Amber Alert.

The billboard showed the face of Donald J. Smith, Cherish Perrywinkle, and the white Dodge van they may be traveling in.
Minutes later, they noticed a bunch of police cars on the other side of the highway along I-95.
They had their camera rolling as they slowly rolled by a white Dodge van. They saw a man on his hands and knees, and officers with their guns drawn.
"I was glad that they got him, so quick, it was posted as I woke up today I had an Amber Alert and just how fast the JSO reacted, they caught him right there on the highway," said Nikko.
It wasn't until Nikko arrived at work when he heard the news that felt like a punch in the gut.
"It was very devastating, it was a very sad story to hear what happened to that little girl," Nikko said. "Someone that didn't deserve it."
