CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- The Clay County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help identifying a group of thieves who they think stole a purse from a customer at a local fast-food restaurant.

Surveillance photos captured the suspects, believed to be family members, leaving the Burger King at 4317 Highway 17 in Fleming Island.

According to deputies, the victim forgot her purse inside the restaurant, and when she returned moments later to retrieve it, it was gone from the booth where she had been sitting.

Investigators believe the group sitting in the booth next to the victim stole the purse, then used the victim's credit cards at two separate locations in Green Cove Springs shortly afterwards.

Anyone with information on any of the four suspects is asked to contact Detective Michael Layne by calling (904) 264-6512.

Bring back hard labor or Chain gangs. The family that steals together can serve time together digging ditches.
