GULFPORT, MS. -- Harrison County is on high alert. The Sheriff's Office has implemented a mandatory curfew Tuesday evening from 7 p.m. -7 a.m. Wednesday.
Hurricane Isaac is flashing everyone back to Hurricane Katrina.
"Sometimes it hurts to think because it was a really bad time for us. Really bad," said Kenny Burton.
He has a hard time watching Hurricane Isaac roll in. Seven years ago, he lost everything. His home in the storm. And his dad's two days later.
"It's kind of what they call deja vu. It's really a bad situation. But we've lived through several of them so hopefully we will live through this one," he said.
This time, Burton isn't worried about what he has to lose. It's already washed away. So despite what Hurricane Isaac has in store, he refuses to leave.
"If they really make us leave I'll probably have to. But otherwise I'd like to stay."
Burton tells Action News Gulfport actually got hit harder than New Orleans but the city didn't get nearly as much coverage or money to rebuild.
He hopes this time, things will change and more help will be available if people need it.
