JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says it has dismantled a criminal gang that overran a local neighborhood.

Sheriff John Rutherford said the Grand Park gang "ran the neighborhood like terrorists," until neighbors said they had enough.

Police have been trying to dismantle the gang since 2007, but the investigation really picked up in the past 18 months.

The gang, at its peak, had 43 members between the ages of 15 and 32 and primarily worked out of Northwest Jacksonville.

"These are the poster children of the deadly, no-snitch attitude," said Rutherford.

Six people have been arrested, prosecuted and sentenced on charges including 77 felonies and 65 misdemeanors.

Community members in Grand Park are relieved and hope this means their streets will be a little safer, "It was an unstated fear, especially when you went into certain parts of Grand Park," said Lloyd Washington, president of the Grand Park Community Association.

Authorities also confiscated 13 firearms and a lot of drugs.

"These are people who are terrorizing the neighborhood because they are conducting an illegal and very dangerous crime enterprise with guns, drugs and everything else," said State Attorney Angela Corey.

Here's a list of the suspects and their charges:
