LONDON -- A royal heir to the throne is on the way this morning as the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, is in labor.

Kate Middleton was booked into Saint Mary's hospital just before 6 am in London, or 1 am Eastern time. She will give birth in the private Lindo Wing, the same room where Diana gave birth to Prince William and Prince Harry.

Media reports had her speculated due date as July 13, and the 'Great Kate Wait' has been anxiously watched by many globally.

Action News This Morning compiled some interesting facts about the royal heir:

1. If the baby is a boy, his royal title will be: His Royal Highness Prince (name) of Cambridge. Or, if the baby is a girl, her royal title will be: Her Royal Highness Princess (name) of Cambridge.

2. If the baby is born today, it will fall under the Cancer zodiac sign (like Lynnsey!). Astrologers say that means the baby will have high emotional intelligence. Also, the baby will share the Cancer zodiac sign with its late grandmother, Princess Diana who was also a Cancer, born July 1. If he or she comes tomorrow, it will have the zodiac sign of Leo.

3. For the very first time, the royal birth will be announced on social media. At the same time, the royal birth notice will be posted outside the gates of Buckingham Palace, as it has been for centuries.

4. Bookies have placed odds on the royal baby name and Alexandra is the favorite. Odds are also highly likely Diana will be included as a middle name.

5. Bookies also have 4-1 odds the baby will have the recessive red hair gene.

6. The royal baby will be third in line to the throne behind Princes Charles and William, no matter if it's a boy or girl. This change happened in April of this year when the UK changed it's rights of succession for the first time in its monarch history.

7. It's been 120 years since a still-serving monarch was alive to see the birth of his or her great-grandchild.

8. Prince William plans to be in the delivery room and will then take two weeks praternity leave.

9. Economists say the baby will inject $380 million into the UK economy.

10. Welsh Composer Paul Mealor, who wrote a piece for royal wedding in 2011, has now written a lullaby "Sleep On" for the royal heir.
