JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police have identified the victim in the attempted murder-suicide shooting at Memorial Park in Riverside as the principal at a Westside school.
Police were called to Riverside Avenue and Memorial Park Drive Thursday night in reference to a shooting.
When they arrived they found two people on the ground with gun shot wounds.
It was determined that David Wayne Kite, 47, had shot his ex-wife, Marie Antoine, 44, during a domestic dispute then shot himself near the park.
According to Duval County Public Schools, Antoine is the principal at Whitehouse Elementary School.
She was taken to a local hospital with serious injures. Kite was pronounced dead on scene.
