JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police arrested a man in the death of his girlfriend.

Marcus Gray is facing a charge of murder in the death of Latasha Joyce.

She was admitted to UF Health in Jacksonville early Friday morning with critical injuries. She died a short time later.

Gray told police that the two were in a relationship.

Investigators later learned the couple had a fight while inside Gray's tractor trailer at the Tri-Star Trucking lot on Rio Grande Avenue.

Gray told police he forcefully shoved Joyce out the door of his truck and drove off.  He told police he returned to find her unresponsive on the ground.  Gray said he drove home, put Joyce in his other car and drove to the hospital where he dropped her off.

The autopsy showed Joyce suffered multiple internal injuries, consistent with being hit by a car.  Gray, according to police, denied hitting Joyce with his truck.

Investigators say surveillance video from the scene showed Gray's truck as the only vehicle coming and going from the scene during the time of the incident.
