Man faces charges in sexual battery of teen
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man has been arrested on charges of sexual battery and kidnapping after a 16-year-old was reported missing Tuesday.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was dispatched about 11 a.m. Tuesday to a missing person call in the 5100 block of Collins Road.
The complainant stated at about 9:30 a.m. the 16-year-old victim left the house to go to her friend's house. The friend came over an hour later looking for the victim. The complainant could not reach the victim.
Police traced the path that the victim would have taken through the woods. The path came out to the backyard at 8719 Pinevalley Lane. This location is a duplex and both residences were vacant.
An officer then found the victim who came frantically running toward him. The victim stated that she was raped and described the suspect to the officer. While the officer was speaking with her, he observed a person matching the description. The suspect was detained.
The investigation revealed that the victim was grabbed from behind by the suspect and pulled into an abandoned house where the suspect committed multiple sexual battery offenses.
Thaddeus Limuel Anderson, 21, was later arrested for kidnapping, burglary, and three counts of sexual battery. He appeared in court Wednesday morning.
