COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- A burning car has sparked yet another mystery in northeast Florida.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office responded to a vehicle fire on Southwest Cypress Road early Friday morning.

Deputies and firefighters found a Chevy pickup on fire near the road.

After putting out the fire, investigators found the body of a man in the pickup truck.

Authorities don’t believe the pickup truck crashed prior to the fire.

Detectives did not find any indication of foul play.

The death is under investigation as accidental.

The medical examiner in Jacksonville will identify the victim and determine a cause of death.

Last month, deputies in St. Johns County found human remains in the trunk of a smoldering car on a rural road in Flagler Estates.

Investigators know who the car is registered to, but have not released any information about the victim.

The Sheriff's Office said it may take weeks to identify the victim.
