JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man in a wheelchair was killed after being hit by a car on the Westside on Wednesday.
Police interviewed the driver who was heading south on Edgewood Avenue around 7:30 p.m. and struck the 81-year-old man in the wheelchair. Police said that man was trying to cross Edgewood Avenue at Trask Street.
The victim was transported to Shands Hospital where he died from his injuries.
Police said charges are pending against the driver.
