JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- Police are looking for the gunman who shot and killed a man after a fight Saturday. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office tells Action News it happened hours after they left the same area.
Neighbors tell Action News the group of people could be heard fighting since Saturday morning. At one point police were even called to break things up. But, hours after they left, neighbors say they heard the fighting escalate and turn violent.
"There were about ten guys and arguing back and forth, back and forth. I came home and was sitting on the porch and the next thing I know, I hear a gunshot," says one unidentified neighbor.
That fatal shot hit 24-year-old Ronnie Lee Washington. He was taken to UF Health where he later died.
Police are now gathering clues hoping to find out what happened and make an arrest in the case. "We are talking to witnesses at this current time and some of them are leading to giving us a lot of information," said Sgt. Dan Janson, JSO.
Police are not sure whether the victim lived in the area where he was shot.
