The USA was bankrupt before Obama started his first term. Bush never scaled back and it wasn't a problem. He admitted to going to war over a lie. No recourse but when mother's of falling solider were outside his ranch in TX, where he seemed to stay quite often during his Presidency, protesting, then they were crazy, instead of grieving mother's who lost their children of a lie. When 9/11 happened Bush ran an hide at Barksdale Airforce base out of harms way, unlike Kennedy during the Bay of Pigs. He stood strong even though the US may be bombed. He felt if the US people were in harms way he would be too. People only see and hear what they want. If there is a party, oh well, look at all the stuff the city does with your money. Imagine all the money your employer may spend on things that don't matter when employees should get raises. There's a lot of things that should could would happen but what actually happens is beyond anyones control.

No wonder he wants to raise taxes. How else will he keep up the lavish lifestyle?

I think Obama should have a party and I hope they all have a marvelous time.

I remember when Jimmy Carter was concerned about how much they wanted to spend on the inauguration and he and Roslyn cut down on money spent to the minimum. When Reagan came into office, they spent a lot of money but much of it supposedly came from contributions. We are not in a position to have a President think his ego is better than our economy - He needs to cut down since it is his second term. He will be spending millions going on his vacations to Hawaii at Taxpayers expense - Such a shame - We are a democracy not a monarchy.

If he really has this nation in his best interest, he would cut back the celebration or cancel it all. He is only thinking of himself. It just shows his true character.

It seems President Obama has an ego problem and has lost touch with the working class for whom he claims to work. I think spending that kind of money for a second party is completely outrageous and his extravagant spending habits appear to be what we can expect the next four years.

Obama should cancel this party, look at the mess that was left there last time and taxpayers have to pay to clean that up and dispose of it. 100 Million dollars is a lot of money and we owe 16 Trillion. He will have to borrow the money for the party so taxpayers would have interest on top of the 100M.

Why would anyone expect Obama to lead the way towards sound fiscal practices?

My taxes went to celebrate when Bush and Reagan had their inaugural celebrations. And I'm happy for my taxes to go to this celebration. The complains are sour grapes.
