ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Orange county bus driver, Daniel Rivera, claims a 5-year-old girl became sick on the bus and wanted to get off before they arrived at Cheney Elementary School. But the child's mother said her daughter was kicked off the bus and left on the side of the road.

Kindergartner, Lena Guzzo-Aguilar said she had been looking forward to riding the bus for the first time this year.

"I was really excited," Lena said.

But after what happened Monday morning she said she's not going back on board a bus any time soon.

"I didn't feel so good. My stomach hurted real bad," Lena said.

Lena had just been picked up at her bus stop when she vomited before getting to her seat.

According to Erika Herrera, Lena's mother, that's when the Rivera made Lena get off the bus and he drove away.

A neighbor noticed what happened and walked Lena home.

"What happens if she wasn't a nice lady and if no parent was there and she got scared?" said Herrera. "He just saw some lady, didn't ask questions or show concern."

A school district representative said the driver was interviewed about the incident. He told them that Lena wanted off the bus, so he let her out

Rivera is no longer driving a school bus for Orange County. On Tuesday morning he was reassigned to bus monitor duty, according to the school district.

"I don't want him to be around kids. I feel he would be unfit for what he did," said Herrera.

An Orange County School District representative said Daniel Rivera has been employed since August and is still in his probation period.

Lena and her sister said they won't go back on the bus, no matter who's driving it.

As a former driver, you do not let a 5 yr old off your bus unless a parent is present! If the parent isn't there then you're suppose to transport the child to the school. He shouldn't be allowed on any bus!

The actions of the driver were definitely atrocious, but let's not forget that a mother put a sick (to the point of vomiting) 5 year old on a bus. I am a parent and if my child is sick enough to vomit while heading to her seat, I am pretty sure I would've noticed and kept her home
