HALL COUNTY, Ga. (WSB-TV) -- Police say they've found the body of a missing mother near the woods of a local neighborhood.

Authorities said they don't know if this is a murder investigation or a medical issue. Deputies tell Channel 2’s Liz Artz the woman’s body was found in a wooded area behind her house. They said it had been in the elements so long it holds zero clues.

Hall County sheriff investigators said the body of 32-year-old Holly Fox Strickland was found by a family member early Saturday morning in a wooded area right behind her Oakwood home. The mother of two disappeared Monday night. Investigators said she was last seen by her in-laws going to bed. They reported her missing Tuesday. Strickland was found in dense brush, but only steps from a heavily traveled road.

"(Is it surprising that it took that long to find her body?) It is very surprising yes," said Deputy Nicole Bailes.

Strickland's body will be taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office early in the week. Investigators said because her body had been in the elements so long that they are dependent on the results of the autopsy.

“There's a lot of questions for sure we need to get answered right now it's hard for us as law enforcement when the body's not telling us nothing, that's out biggest piece of evidence and it's not telling us anything right now," Bailes said.

Investigators don't know right now if they are working a murder investigation or if she died from a medical issue, but they say there is no history of drug abuse or depression. Bailes said her in-laws are cooperating.

“Pending the outcome of the autopsy determine the direction we take with this investigation,” Bailes said.

Investigators say there were no physical injuries on Strickland's body. They say she was divorced but living with her ex-in-laws.
