MIAMI, Fla.-- Twenty four years after Tiffany Sessions, a fresh set of eyes has been assigned to take another look at the evidence.

Patrick Sessions, Tiffany's father revealed the news in an interview with WFOR-TV in Miami.

A detective with the Alachua County Sheriff's Office was hired last month to focus on the case.

Tiffany Sessions vanished from Gainesville on February 9, 1989. The University of Florida student told her roommate she was going for a walk, but never returned. She would have been 44-years-old now.

"Whoever took her, took that away from her. From her, from us, from everybody else," Pat Sessions said.

Investigators say they never stopped digging in to the Sessions case.

But now, for the first time in more than 20 years, there's a detective devoted entirely to taking a closer look.

Detective Kevin Allen used to work for the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.  He now works with the Alachua County Sheriff's Office, and has been put on Tiffany's case.

Detective Allen says he's spent the past six weeks getting up to speed and has already found some useful information. That information has not yet been released. He met with Sessions recently in South Florida to discuss details.

But Sessions says he's been in contact with a man who was recently released from jail who claims to know what might have happened to Tiffany. He said that man was mentioned in the files of evidence accumulated over the years, but somehow, the information slipped through the cracks.

Now that Detective Allen is on the case, Sessions is hoping this new perspective will be the key to finding answers.

Pat Sessions said he is willing to issue a reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction, or to Tiffany's remains.

To read about the Tiffany Sessions case again is disturbing to me for these reasons. We were kept in the dark about this case at the time it happened. For some reason the police think that with holding some information from the public is good police work.I would say that the majority of people would be a help not a hindrance to the police if they knew some of the facts.I can't even imagine what Mr Sessions went thru finding out his daughter was missing, in having 2 daughters of my own..I know that the police and detectives are experts in their fields but cases like this sure give confidence to the criminals who pull off crimes and get away with it.Crime Scene Investigation Experts couldn't crack this case either? Again My condolences to Mr Sessions.
