Off ramp from Atlantic Blvd. to Kernan Blvd. back open after fatal wreck
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- One person is dead after a crash on Atlantic Boulevard Thursday morning.
JSO told an Action News photographer on scene the crash happened around 1 a.m.
They said the car was heading west on Atlantic Boulevard when it tried to get off at Kernan Boulevard. But they said the driver quickly tried to get back on Atlantic Boulevard when he hit a curb.
A female passenger was not wearing her seatbelt and was partially thrown from the car, according to JSO. She died from her injuries.
Officers said the driver had a suspended license. They are working to find out if alcohol was a contributing factor.
Florida Highway Patrol released a report on the crash around 4:40 a.m. It listed 22-year-old Kristopher Williams as the driver and 21-year-old Alexia Sawyer as the passenger involved.
