TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The Florida Parole Commission denied Thomas DeSherila parole in the killing of St. Augustine Beach Police officer Ron Parker back in 1975.
DeSherila is serving a sentence that lasts until 2477 for the murder of Parker. If parole was granted, the commission would then be tasked with moving up his release date.
Action News talked with the Parker family and they are satisfied with today's action Tallahassee. They did stress that it is a struggle every time they go before the commission because they must rehash the murder of their loved one.
Brenda Parker will be in town for her husband's annual remembrance on January 11th at 11 a.m. at Ron Parker Park in St. Augustine.
DeSherila will face the Parole Commission again in August 2019.
