JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man killed in a motorcycle crash on the Westside worked for the Navy at NAS Jacksonville.

The Florida Highway Patrol was called to the intersection of Timuquana Road and Seaboard Avenue about 3 p.m. Thursday.

According to an FHP, Tashia L. Ming of Jacksonville was driving a Plymouth Voyager westbound on Timuquana Avenue in the left turn lane approaching Seaboard Avenue.

Thomas M. Moore, 30, of Jacksonville was eastbound on Timuquana on his motorcycle in the right lane.

Ming turned left but the front of Moore's motorcycle hit the front of Ming's vehicle.

Moore was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The impact moved Ming's vehicle and it hit a Toyota Corolla driven by Cynthia Baker, who was not injured..

Charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.

Moore was stationed at NAS Jacksonville as an avionics technician with the VP5 squadron.
