PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- The Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission says a sea plane landed on the St. Johns River, just north of Palatka around 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Neighbors grew concerned that it was an emergency, and officials from the Florida Highway Patrol and Palatka Fire Department responded. It was later determined not to be an emergency and both people on board the plane were found safe.

The FWC says the pilot landed the plane to use the bathroom.

Cheap airplane didn't even have auto pilot, would have been cheaper to use a bucket.

Wonderful news is always welcome. Relieving yourself in the river might be that to some.It certainly makes many think..From this river we should never drink.Should we swim and possibly hit. Someones floating piece of it.I think we're not interested in this type of news.Unless we're drinking a lot of Booze.Enough of this about a possible piss in our river.

So "wizzing in the river" is OK? Surely this guy got a ticket. At the very least, he had to have contributed to the pollution in the river with the dirt, oil and gas on the plane right?

This was not an emergency landing, so why report it as such?
