JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police have arrested the suspect they say hit and killed a toddler on the Southside, then took off.

Police say they found 34-year-old Serdarus Migel Scott at the Royal Estates Apartments on Arlington Expressway. He is currently being interviewed by traffic homicide detectives.

Police say Scott was leaving the Harold House Apartments on the Southside just after 5 p.m. Sunday when he ran over 2-year-old Janya Solomon. Investigators tell us, Scott hit Solomon as he was backing out of a parking space.

Neighbors say Scott realized he hit the child, but drove off anyway.

Scott is charged with leaving the scene of a crash that resulted in a fatality.

How can anyone do that to a child and then walk away? He must think his 'pretty boy face' will continue to get him out of trouble. HA! Bigga bubba's gonna love this one.

Now that he's arrested who helped escape? Put them in with him.
