JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Beach police department is investigating after a man tried to use counterfeit money at a local gas station.

Police say a white man tried to pass three counterfeit $10 bills at the Gate gas station at 25020 3rd St. S. in Jacksonville Beach on Oct. 6. The suspect is described as a white man, about 40 to 50 years old, about 6 feet tall and 220 pounds. He was wearing a red, black and white ball cap, a white T-shirt, and khaki shorts. He was driving an older, teal Ford F150 truck.

Why is it that we never hear the term "black" man when describing a criminal who happened to be black? I guess that is the code. If race isn't mentioned, the crime was committed by a black person. Man there sure are a lot of black perpetrators around here; but we already knew that.
