JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Retail giants like Kohl's and Walmart are looking to cash in on the early-morning rush and will open their doors at 5 a.m. to get a jump start on the single-most popular day for returns and exchanges.

The after-Christmas sales have already started and Christmas isn't even over yet.

"I don't like the crowds so I won't be there," said Joshua Wilkerson. is offering a 20 percent off Christmas Day-only discount. Target, trying to make up for its loss in sales, is also looking to score big with online deals Wednesday. Except the first thing shoppers see on the Target website is a warning about the retailer's credit card breach.

The 40 million people who used a debit or credit card in stores between Black Friday and December 15, received an email from the company CEO offering a 10 percent discount and a free credit check. Some say it's not enough.

"One has to be real careful, but I think that's a huge wake-up call for retailers," said Gabij McLauchlan.

Now, more than two dozen people are suing Target for negligence.

"I thought that they didn't speak up soon enough...because they didn't want it to affect their sales so they kept it hush," said shopper Nicole Mitchell.

"We went into Target the other day and it was empty. It was like a ghost town in there," said Kevin Mitchell.

Analysts say the retail store's sales were not on target, and like dozens of others, they're hoping the after-Christmas discounts will boost them back up. Despite the damper in stores, the National Retail Federation expects a 3.9 percent increase in overall holiday sales this year.
