Jacksonville, FLA. - Fuji is a sushi restaurant located in a shopping center at Beach and Hodges in Jacksonville. The restaurant has been open for six years. The last time we were here - almost one year to the day - Fuji was temporarily closed down by the state health inspector for roaches.
The restaurant is at the top of the state list again this week for the most number of high priority violations.
Here are some of the high priority violations found in the state report:
A stop sale on eggs - the shells were cracked or broken
An employee didn't wash their hands before handling food
Raw salmon stored in the same container as sliced avocado
We asked one of the workers, "Were you were storing raw salmon with avocado?" She replied, "Um... I'm calling the manager."
We were put on the phone with restaurant manager, Pete who told us, "Sorry - no comment." Then he hung up.
Okanes Irish Pub & Eatery on Centre Street in Fernandina Beach and Ragtime Tavern in Atlantic Beach
rounded out the top three restaurants with the most number of high priority violations this week
