PALATKA, Fla. -- The search for a missing St. Johns County woman has been called off by authorities.

Rebecca Ware disappeared in October 2010. Her ex-boyfriend, Timothy Johnson, was arrested in August 2012 and charged with second-degree murder, even though Ware's body has not been located.

A wooded area near Johnson's home off Beech Street in Palatka was searched Friday morning for the second time.  A friend of Johnson's gave a tip to police in 2011, but called Thursday to tell police they missed something. Police say they continue to receive tips regularly, but this is the most relevant recent lead.

Police used search dogs and a dive team to re-search the area throughout the day Friday but were unable to find anything.

If you have any information that can assist the search, call the St. Johns County Crimestoppers at 888-277-TIPS.
