I agree with Shelbys Mom. If you were familiar with the area this store was located in, it is not a safe neighborhood by no stretch of the imagination. Its not St. Johns Town Center or the Avenues for sure. Keep in mind too that she was transferred to that store as part of a promotion. Its in very high crime area. To make my point, go to any convenient store within 3 miles of that Metro PCS store and they have bullet proof glass and the employees have security either by being protected by glass or as store owners they are able to bring their own firearms to work with them, which most of them do...The owner of the Metro PCS store should not of put a young woman like Shelby by herself. If you dont believe me, take a drive to that store, park and hang out for a few minutes with your windows rolled down. You will change your tune real quick.

I am sorry that Shelby was murdered. Her mother needs to be placed under psychiatric care. Sitting on the steps at the sheriffs office until the killer was found. now she is suing the store. If we put armed security in every store, who would pay for it? You would thru higher prices and even then it would not stop a robber. If he is serious he might shot everyone in the store. Look at all the robberies where there is additional security. I am sorry that Shelby lost her life, but she was not a baby, I feel sure that she was an adult. The lawyer her mother has sure must be money hungry, like a lot of them to take this on.

How about doing the same thing to thugs that shoot store clerks the same as the ones that kill police officers. Kill them. Instead we cuddle them and give them life in prison because the people they killed are not as "special" as cops. That is what disgusts me kill cop you will get death penalty kill a store clerk your out in less than 30 years.

Its about time,I hope they get sued for every last dime they have. Though nothing can bring Shelby back, it WILL show these stores in HIGHER crime areas they WILL BE held accountable if they don't want to protect their employees.
