Somer Thompson home burglary suspect among witnesses in Michael Dunn trial
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Court records in the trial of Michael Dunn have been unsealed.
Attorneys for Dunn filed a motion to keep the records under wraps.
The documents include a 19-page list with information on trial witnesses.
The witnesses include Shawn Atkins. He was the focus of an unsealed court order calling for his transfer from a corrections facility in Union County to the Duval County Jail to serve as a witness in the trial.
According to reports, deputies in Orange Park arrested Atkins last May on grand theft and burglary charges. Investigators say he broke into the family home of Somer Thompson, and stole more than $15,000 in jewelry and other items. He pleaded guilty last August. He's serving five years in prison.
Dunn is accused of shooting 17-year-old Jordan Davis to death at a gas station on the Southside in November 2012. Police say the two had an argument about loud music.
