JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Workers along the Mathews Bridge were busy changing signs Saturday that were part of a massive mistake.

Signs installed warning of the bridge's closure and detours were misspelled.

The sign maker ended up putting an extra "T" in the word Mathews spelling the incorrect word of "Matthews" this time around.

A couple of months ago Action News cameras caught a glaring mistake on an new sign along Interstate 95 where Florida was spelled "Flordia" numerous times.

[Coverage: Interstate sign sidelined due to typo]

No word on who is responsible for the most recent mistake or the price tag to fix it.

Glad they spent thousands of dollars fixing this, I would never have found my way if they had left both t's in Mathew.

And yet they no longer teach spelling & grammar in school??? This is what the USA is coming to. No wonder other nations laugh at us behind their hands and take us over.
