Retailers continue to make the "holiday season" less about the true reason many of us celebrate and more about the commercialism of it. There was a time I was caught up in the shopping frenzy, but at least 10 years ago I thought of how Jesus has to grieve seeing how materialistic "His" people have become. Quite contrary to what He teaches. Personally I do not care for that area. Too crowded, pretentious & expensive for me. My gift to close family/friends is baking of items that only I can bake. This said, I also know that the "true" date of my Savior's birth is no where near where the "church" places it. Never the less, I worship and praise Him each day.
