Statewide EBT system back on line due to JPMorgan Outage
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- JPMorgan Chase Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card system has been fixed after being down for several hours Friday. The system shut down Friday morning leaving clients of federal assistance in Florida and several other states unable to use their EBT cards to purchase items.
EBT cards are used by recipients of cash and food assistance for purchases in approved stores. With the system down, some stores chose to run a manual processing of up to $40.
Wal-Mart stores have the ability to process manual transactions of up to $100.
The outage began around 7 a.m. Friday and lasted until 1 p.m.
