No way is Mr Davis going to do that, he probably feels these kids are 'allowed and entitled' to roam around free, break probation and laws because its more 'profittable'. The driver Tommie Stornes was on probation and had a curfew, should have been at home instead of joyriding with his underage friends. I do not know why the SAO has not charge him with V.O.P. Plus in my book he should be charge with murder too. He violated his probation and that is a felony. If I was Mr. Davis I would be looking to sue the State of Florida for not supervising this know felon.

forget about lowering the noise... our supreme court just ruled its fine for da bruddas to pump it up ??? "FREE EXPRESSION" they called it ??? well we have our right to "FREE EXPRESSION" as well,, the business end of a weapon ... wonderful,, now this crap that passes as noise rather than music will be assaulting everyone with no desire to listen to it !!! local communities need to enforce noise ordinances & fight the courts ruling,, to the supreme court of the nation if need be !!! 85 decibels sustained max,, should be the limit & outlaw the booming bass !!!

I don't know about the rest of the state but in Clay County we have an ordinance that bans loud music from/in vehicles. It doesn't do any good though as there is no enforcement of this law. It is enforced about as much as the speeding laws and seat belt laws - maybe even less. It is enforced about as much as a driving while talking/texting on a cell phone ordinance would be if passed. By the way, there is nothing wrong with the "stand your ground' law if the authorities would just enforce it as written. Dunn broke that law! Davis did not initiate the confrontation, Dunn did.

NO, THE LAW WAS BROKEN FIRST BY THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE WHO BLASTED HIS MUSIC ABOVE THE NOISE ORDINANCE. But I agree, this idiot had a choice to roll up his window and leave instead of confronting them about it. He also had the choice to call the police on them, instead the idiot shot away at the car like an insane lunatic. stupid stupid stupid. If there isn't a video or proof of them with a shot gun, the stand your ground law doesn't apply here and he deserves the max sentence.

Ddukes you couldn't possibly be serious....The cause of this situation was someone looking for a fight because he was drunk and realized how inadequate he has been as a father after attending his son's (that he hasn't been in contact with since who knows when)wedding. It doesn't matter how loud someone's music is that doesn't give someone the right to instigate a confrontation. Mr. Dunn thought he was above the law, which he quickly realized he isn't. What innocent person flees the scene and goes to a hotel, eat the snacks his GF purchased at Gate, goes to sleep, wakes up the next morning, views a newscast that clearly shows he killed someone,and drives home to carry on with his life without calling the police? If he felt the music was too loud, he should have called the police...how long were both cars really going to be at the Gate that the music irritated him so much that he felt he needed to address the situation? At this point he is going to get the fight he was looking for on that Friday night in court. Hopefully he will lose this fight like young Jordan Davis lost his life

This case has nothing to do with the PROPER application of the "Stand-Your-Ground" as it is presently written; therefore, no changes are needed. The legal system has to follow certain steps including addressing whatever defense the individual mounts in a timely manner. It would appear that they are "loading the wagon" with charges including first degree murder which will probably be bargained down later. We need to let the courts decide the merits of any defense - not the news media,relatives, & anti-whatever groups of the moment.

I agree about the stand your ground law, but... we need a law passed to ban loud music!! THAT is the cause of the situation
