JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Three people are recovering at UF and Shands Jacksonville after police say they were shot inside the Mirage Gentlemen's Club early Thursday morning.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, around 3:30 a.m. a man went inside the North Main Street club through a back door and fired several shots into the crowd.

"It sounds like he had an intended target but the three people that were injured were probably not part of the target," said Seargent Bobby Lyle with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Patricia Sharrow, who has lived across the street from the Mirage for the past two years, says the club is always packed.

"Sometimes, in the morning, I have to catch the bus by myself because my husband works out of town and I have to come through there and I'm so scared," said Sharrow.

Investigators say, because the club was so crowded, many patrons could not identify the man who is only described as a young black male.

"He just opened the door and really didn't come in as patron and just started shooting into the business," said Sgt. Lyle.

Investigators will be looking through the video captured by surveillance cameras behind the gentlemen's club in order to get a better description of the suspect.

If you have any information that could lead police to an arrest you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.  You will remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward of up to $1,000 if your tip leads to an arrest.
