Troopers calling hit-and-run crash on Beach Boulevard a "road rage incident"
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- JSO is now searching for three people after a hit-and-run crash Monday night.
A report from Florida Highway Patrol shows, a Monte Carlo with five people on board was driving west on Beach Boulevard near Huffman Road just before 6 p.m. when the crash happened. Witnesses reported seeing a person in the car display a gun before it suddenly veered left into oncoming traffic. The car reportedly hit a Jeep Compass and a Ford Mustang -- causing an estimated $28K in damage.
Troopers said two people inside the Monte Carlo were taken to the hospital -- including a 12-year-old who suffered minor injuries. The three others on board ran away. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is now searching for those occupants.
The driver of the Jeep Compass also, reportedly, suffered minor injuries.
Westbound lanes of Beach Boulevard were closed for a time. Witnesses reported to Action News that there were baby items scattered across the road.
