Victim identified in Northwest Jacksonville shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office homicide unit is investigating a shooting at West 25th Street and Martha Street.

The Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department transported one patient with a gun shot wound to the chest to UF & Shands Jacksonville. That man, identified by police as 30-year-old Michael Anthony White, Jr., later died at the hospital.

Witnesses said they heard people arguing in the streets, then heard shots fired and saw people flee the scene.

The JSO has said it may be looking for more than one suspect.
