JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- WOKV has learned Whisky River in Jacksonville is closed.

The restaurant and club located in the Markets at the St. Johns Town Center was empty when we checked out the location today after they were supposed to be open. One employee trying to enter the building told us she wasn't informed the restaurant would be closed. Several customers also tried to get in, but could not.

There is no sign on the building, so it is not immediately clear how long the location could be closed.

WOKV has learned that an event hosted by our sister station WAPE, to be held at Whisky River next month, has had to change locations to nearby Suite, although a reason for the move has not been disclosed.

The popular nightspot is one of the anchors for the initial phase of the Town Center.

WOKV has reached out to the management company at Whisky River, as well as management in the Markets at the St. Johns Town Center.

This is a developing story that will be updated as we learn more through today.

I'm sorry but a police should break in and check it out, it sounds like foul play is afoot. What if someone is in there needing help or something?
