JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- The wife of the suspect in the Jacksonville airport bomb threat is speaking out about her husband.
Police raced to the airport Tuesday night after a man told TSA he had a bomb. People were evacuated, and flights were diverted. Police arrested Zeljko Causevic.
On Wednesday night, we saw a JSO officer parked outside his home. The FBI searched the home Tuesday. After the officer left, we went to the door. Causevic's wife spoke to Action News off camera. She was sorry for what happened Tuesday and that her husband was ill. She told us over the past two months she saw psychiatric changes, and could tell in his eyes that something wasn't right. But she says her husband is not a terrorist.
"He dreamed to live in Florida. He would never do anything on purpose to ruin what he's worked so hard for," said Vesna Causevic.
But his actions shut down the airport and with two other suspicious people being questioned by police at the same time, the FBI said they thought something bigger was going on.
Zeljko's wife said she just hopes her husband gets the help he needs and is glad no one was hurt. Causevic's wife said she has not seen her husband since he was arrested yesterday. He was also working for a local trucking company.
Causevic is facing charges for a false report of a bomb and manufacturing, possessing or selling a hoax bomb. A judge set his bail for a total of $1 million on both charges. He will be back in court later this month.
