JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A woman says she was was inside the Walmart store when 8-year-old Cherish Perrywinkle was abducted is speaking out. Crystal Brookshire tells Action News she wishes there was something she could have done Friday night.

The last several days have been tough for her, especially as a mother of three. Crystal says she saw Cherish's mom and two daughters in the shoe section minutes before it happened.

"She looked like she was having a hard time she looked like her mind was somewhere else," she said.

Crystal says she left the checkout line a little after 10:30 p.m., and that she felt something wasn't right, but never saw nor heard Cherish.

"There was no scene, there was no help me, no I'm in trouble, no I'm in danger, something is not right, nothing. "That's what's hard to make sense of all of this," said Crystal.

Since that night, Crystal tells Action News she's scared for her children now, more than ever before.

"Our justice system needs to change it is failing us adults it is failing our children. Our children are not safe," she explained.

The mother says all she can do now is pray, and let Cherish know she will always be in her thoughts.

Crystal's car was also the second car JSO were looking for because she was there at the same time, but it turned out to be a misunderstanding. Her car has been cleared from their investigation.

"A woman says she was was inside the Walmart store when 8-year-old Cherish Perrywinkle was abducted is speaking out." Please proof read...you all seem so stupid. Sorry.

Ms. Gomez, you are a news reporter, not a court reporter. Your job is to ask follow-up questions, not just transcribe what someone says. When the witness reports something like, "She looked like she was having a hard time she looked like her mind was somewhere else," why didn't you follow up to find out what that statement meant??? I read this witness's original statement of the observations she made and I think it would have been prudent of you to report what the woman really meant. I think Cherish deserves full disclosure. It would answer A LOT of questions about what really happened that night!

Truthseeker- The big story is this mother saw the mother only with the two little girls in the shoe section and Cherish was not with her. Think of how far away the shoe section is from Mcdonalds. Why didn't the mother notice the girl was not with her? This woman checked out at around 10:30. When she left the was not a CodeAdam set at WalMart when she left or when he left with her at 10:41. Her mind was on something else (shopping) for her not to realize that her oldest child was gone. If you saw the news a few days back, a news reporter stated that the mother did not want to speak but wanted to clear up that she did not let her daughter go with the guy but when he stated that he was going to McDonalds and asked did they want anything. She said she heard Cherish say "cheeseburger" but she did not see her. Why wouldn't this mother look around to see where her daughter was? The story establishes that the mother waited quit awhile before she notified WalMart or the Police. The woman saw her before 10:30...just how long was Cherish gone before the woman saw the mother and other two girls in the shoe section. The mother was neglectful because of the promise of a $100 gift card that she had been waiting over three hours for an illusive wife to bring.

Yeah there were probably many other people in the Walmart at the time, but this woman was driving the other car police were looking for at the time. You can't find the truth if you do not read the whole story.

So where is the story? I am sure that several people saw the Perrywinkle family prior to the abduction? Did this lady see the actual abduction? Did she see the pedophile in action? What exactly is the BIG story? Looks like a space filler to me. Oh, and thank God the car was cleared from the investigation, but then again so few cars abduct children these days. Most of the time the felon turns out to be a person.

If this is true than it really does make no sense. The VIDEO surveillance tape tells EXACTLY what time this pos walked out with Cherish...maybe momn didn't know her daughter was gone yet. I would have been hysterical and screaming.
